OUR STORY

At Article, we want to make buying furniture better. But traditional retail models are not setup to facilitate great value — especially in the furniture market. Our founders wanted to use technology to combine the convenience of the internet with the the knowledge of a real-life experience. Our founders combined their engineer-mindset with a killer design team to design and source a catalogue that features mid-century, Scandinavian, and West coast modern designs. Five years later, here we are.

At Article, we make beautiful, quality furniture at fair prices. We strive to produce beautiful designs that are well-made and affordably priced. We have high standards. To hit these lofty goals, we work directly with our manufacturers, subsidize shipping, and forgo expensive showrooms. Altogether, these efforts let us bring classic, value-driven furniture to our customers. Plus, our flat-rate, expertly-managed shipping gets it to our customers fast.

By focusing on a digital experience, Article can cut costs traditional furniture retailers can't. We don’t pay for expensive rents or sales commissions, and we don’t waste money on floor models. Instead, we pass all those savings on to our customers — a savings of 30% lower than regular retail prices.

Since our launch in 2013, Article has grown. Our four founders started operations huddled around two small desks, building the foundation of the company on their disciplined operation. By 2015, the company had achieved profitability. Today, Article has achieved $100-million in gross annual sales.
